Background on Video Advertising

Digital video advertising was born almost a decade ago, but it was the sale of Broadcast.com to Yahoo in 1998 for the sum of $5.7 billion that put digital video on the map. During the early 2000s, as the internet valuation bubble burst, digital video progressed slowly. By 2005, widespread adoption of high-speed internet connections and improvements in video compression resulted in an accelerated growth of online video.
