Asia Bio-Chem Group is one of the latest new listings on the Canadian Securities Exchange, formerly known as the Canadian National Stock Exchange, and is trading under the symbol “ABC”.

Concurrent with its new CSE listing, the company has de-listed from the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Asia Bio-Chem Group, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries in the People's Republic of China, is in the business of processing corn into cornstarch, germ and gluten for sale to the domestic Chinese market.

The primary use of corn starch in China is in the production of sweeteners.

Corn-based sweeteners such as fructose are used in many beverage products while sugar alcohols such as sorbitol and mannitol and is used to produce a wide variety of modified starch products for the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries.

Corn starch also has a number of unique characteristics which provides a very wide range of applications in the food industry as well as other industrial applications.

For example, its thickening property gives many food products such as puddings, gravies, sauces and pie fillings their desired consistency.

From its plants in northeastern China, the Company has a total processing capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of corn per year.

The company uses both truck and rail to ship its products to modern ports on the Yellow sea which provides a cost effective means of shipping its products to customers in the south of China.

Given the low cost of sea transportation, the company is able to bypass the more competitive markets in central China and focus in the south where the climate is too warm for corn and therefore few corn processors.
