Defense Technologies International, a developer of security technologies, has completed a successful demonstration and test of its new “Offender Alert Passive Scan™” product, which is based on the earth’s magnetic fields.

Unlike existing scanners, which are based on X-ray technology, the company’s scanner has zero emissions, and is therefore harmless to any subject passing through the portal.

As you can see in these tests, when someone walks through the company’s scanning device, sensors embedded within the aluminum frame detect anything of a metallic nature, providing a visual indication, which is displayed overhead by a range of color-coded LED lights, indicating the severity of the threat.

It successfully detects the location of knives, mobile phones and guns, and with its highly sensitive technology able to detect even the smallest object, it should serve as a major deterrent to anyone planning to carry a concealed weapon.

The sensitivity can be adjusted to ignore keys and items such as mobile phones.

The unit can be concealed within a door frame, as an entrance to an open area, or installed as a standalone unit for portable operation, where it can be powered by a battery pack.

Several scanners can be remotely linked to a computer station, where they can be controlled by a single security person, and using infrared technology, the system can capture data on intruders 24/7, allowing for unmanned operation.

Merril Moses, President & CEO, stated: “We are very excited about the final progress and success after years of planning, testing and improvements to today’s unique and outstanding Scan Technology Device. This is another step forward in our efforts to make our schools and sporting events safer and as a result, more enjoyable for all.”

On the mineral side, Defense Technologies holds 30 gold mineral lease claims in Nevada within its subsidiary Long Canyon Gold Resources (www.canyongoldexploration.com), which it plans to spin-off, creating a second public company.

The shares are currently trading at $0.10, and with 26.2 million outstanding, the company is capitalized at $2.6 million.
