Investmentpitch Media’s new Investment channel has been approved for delivery across the Roku network.

Roku, which offered consumers the first Netflix Internet streaming box in 2008, now delivers more than 1,400 channels to close to 20 million households.

Although most Roku channels are free, there are some, such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, History Channel, NBA League Pass and NHL Gamecenter that are only available on a subscription basis.

Investmentpitch has one of the largest libraries of video content focussing on the small and mid-cap sectors.

The company reviews 100’s of news items daily from a variety of sources, creating 3 minute videos which discuss newly issued companies, private placements and significant news items.

The most popular product is a 3 minute "buy recommendation" video which summarizes an often lengthy investment firm research report - information that is rarely available to individual retail investors.

These videos are ideally suited for delivery to mobile devices, with 58% of smartphone users now watching short videos every day.

The company also produces longer format videos such as CEO interviews and corporate presentations.

Investmentpitch CFO Barry Morgan stated: “It is a priority for us to deliver our content to as many viewers as possible. The Roku channel, with its potential audience of 20 million households, complements our current extensive video distribution, which includes 550,000 Reuters’ terminals along with the 1 million pages views we receive monthly on our corporate site. ”

The InvestmentPitch website (www.investmentpitch.com) also hosts a selection of video content on large-cap companies from Reuters and Zacks Investment Research, which unfortunately will not be available on Roku because of terms in the syndication agreement.

Popular technology website CNET stated: “The Roku platform remains our favorite, with the most apps, the best search and an interface that doesn't prioritize one content provider over any other. And the Roku 2 delivers the fastest performance for the least amount of money of any Roku device. That's why it earned a 5-star review and our current Editors' Choice award.”

The power of video is confirmed by a 3M study that showed that one minute of video equates to 1.8 million words because visuals transmitted to the brain are processed exponentially faster than text, making video the single most powerful communications tool available.

If you are interested in participating in digital video, one of the fastest growing sectors on the Internet, Investmentpitch is currently accepting new investors through a new equity crowdfunding campaign at www.seedups.ca.
